The research Abstract
represents the date of the coming back of Sheikh Abi Zakaria Yahia Al- Afdali to the M'zab Valley and his sitting there after his trip of seeking knowledge، and his starting of reformatory work. He is considered as the
pioneer of the modern reformation renaissance in the M'zab Valley. I deemed it worth to stop at the year 1382 H/ 1962 B.C which coincide with the independence of Algeria; because I consider that the reformation renaissance's project has been accomplished during this period، and witnessed in a sort of serenity and stability. Furthermore، this renaissance witnesses new circumstance after the independence whish push it towards changing some of the rules of work and the movement's approach which make it an separated period that needs an independent study.
I notice that I stressed on the analysis of the reformation renaissance's thought during its period of strength and emancipation، i.e. during the first half of the twentieth century after its transformation into a movement، a system and a school of thought under the leadership of Sheikh Brahim Beyoud; I stressed on that because I believe that the previous period are preparatory and the efforts made were individual and dispersed.
The main research results:
What has been witnessed by the Ibadits of Algeria during the modern and contemporary history is actually considered a genuine 'reformation renaissance'، by the very sense of the term; and this renaissance has roots which go back to the mid eighteenth century، when it was born among the groups (halkat) of scholars and sheikhs and inside mosques. This renaissance has passed through preparatory stages during which it witnesses a stage of emergence and childhood where it was characterized by weakness and instability; then it starts growing، developing، strengthening and solidifying by time.
After World War 1 and by in the early 1920 s، the reformation renaissance witnesses the stage of its strong and accelerated departure، and that was due to a number of internal and other external factors which predispose it to see this paradigm shift in the work and action. During this period also، it witnesses its transformation into a reformation growth after being a sort of dispersed efforts and actions; then it becomes a particular reformation school which has its own thought، approach، institutions and adherents.
