Abstract

This study deals with the necessity of reading and analyzing the dynamism women's social state in M'zab. By approaching the social spaces of the woman، which are actually getting larger and larger determinated by the new feminine life styles that are produced، in spaces that are completely different from the traditional ones that existed before; confined in the house. This latter represented the specific place for women to be at ease، by adopting the life style in which she was raised .this permitted to maintain these traditional values. In opposition، we remarque that the constant raising of women's activity in different fields، new values and activities started to raise and develop، as a consequence of their desire of having their dreams accomplished through these spaces. But many obstacles prevent the Mozabites women from having a complete integration in these fields، which results in continuous negotiations with their traditional values in order to overcome these obstacles. These negotiations serve to enrich those values and establish a balance between values and personnel objectives.

Then this study brings some answers to the central question in this context: to which extent do the new social spaces contribute in the reformulation of the values and the identity of the Mozabite woman? Is there a consensus about specific values between those that consume these new spaces? What are the new alternatives that can these new spaces produce?

According to the theory of Olgierd Kuty about the negotiation of values، we supposed the following: the new spaces reformulate the identity of the woman through the process of the negotiation of values، in such a way، that the preservation of the mozabite woman of her values varies according to the degree of her integration in the social space that she chooses. More the woman is integrated in the traditional social spaces، more she conserves her traditional values، and the more she integrates in the new social spaces، the more she negotiates the traditional values of the society.
