This Study was initiated by a preparatory note introducing one of the Imams of Muslims، and a prominent figure among their personalities، i.e. the scholar Sheikh Mohammad Bin Yousif Etfaish- may god bestow mercy on his soul who was Ibadhi as to his sect، and Algerian as to his birth place and residence. This study dealt briefly with his early life، education، his practical and theoretical Career، his attitudes towards colonialism and his works.

The study dealt then with the Sheikh's methodology in his first Interpretation "Hemyan Al-Zad"، bringing to light his resources in this Interpretation، the variety of these resources and the way he dealt with them. It also summarized the general approach he adopted in his interpretation.

The study demonstrated then the Sheikh's interest in the passed down heritage in his Interpretation، and his way of citing the Hadith، with all its authentic، weak and fabricated categories.

The study also mentioned some of the issues that fall under the term "Uloom Al-Qur'an" (the sciences of Qur'an)، and how the Sheikh utilised it to serve the meaning and demonstrate it.

The study had also taken an interest in discussing some of the doctrinal issues which were included in the Interpretation، and towards which the Sheikh had adopted certain attitudes. Focus، in this respect، was given to points of agreement، whereas controversial points were avoided as much as possible،
