Abstract

CONTEMPORARY IBADHIYAH OF OMAN

There are three main parts in the first chapter of our thesis. Firstly، ibadhiyah's names have been discussed and established that ibadhiyah doesn't like the names of Khvarich and Kaade. Then، the foundation of the ibadhiyah has been told.

The ibadhis want to remembered as with Muhakkime، non Khavaric ibadhi au- thorities assert that the ibadhi school is a moderate branch of the Muhakkime under the leadership of "Jabir b. Zeyd" and "Abdullah b. ibadh" and that is different from khvarich

The ibadhis wanted to prove that there is no connection between Kharijites and ibadhiyah and they published a lot of books for this purpose.

In the second chapter، Oman and ibadhiyah have been examined. Firstly، we gave information about Oman's religious، political and social circumstances. It has been told about Sultan Qabus b. Said who has an important role in the formation of early Oman. Then the entry of the Ibadhiyah to the Oman has been discussed. Oman's people accepted the Ibadhiyah without getting war. It has been seen that Jabir b. Zeyd has an important role in adoption of Ibadhiya by Omanis. Ibadhiyah sects have been discussed. At this point it has been observed that the sects that were attributed to Ibadhiyah by the suni sources are not known by the ibadhiyas.

In the last chapter ibadhiya's religious opinions and political thoughts have been examined and sometimes companisons were made between the ibadhi and Kharijite thoughts.
