Abstract
This study، entitled "Particles of Meaning and Their Jurisprudential and Usul Implications: A Study of Ma‘?rij al-?m?l and ?al`at al-Shams as a Model،" aims to examine individual Arabic particles of meaning (hur?f al-ma ??n?) and their influence on Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and legal theory (usul al-fiqh)، with a particular focus on how Imam al-S?lim? addressed these particles in his works Ma'?rij al-?m?l and ?alal- Shams.
The research addresses a central issue concerning the way jurists and legal theorists have understood particles of meaning from a grammatical perspective، in addition to how these particles may alternate in usage and the resulting impact on legal discourse. It seeks to answer key questions related to the definition of particles of meaning، their sources، the concept of alternation among them، and their implications for jurisprudential rulings.
The study adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology، complemented by a comparative approach that contrasts the methods of grammarians and u?ul scholars in analyzing these particles and applying them to legal judgments.
The findings reveal that individual particles of meaning play a vital role in the derivation of legal rulings. Moreover، Imam al-S?lim? adopts a distinctive approach in analyzing these particles by skillfully balancing grammatical analysis with legal reasoning.
