Abstract

The history of people is weaved in the process of time and place; from the warp of facts and the weft of events، which erode with time. But، when recalled by people، it is established as a material for myths، legends and stories. Once taken and verified by a historian، this same material becomes substance for History by fitting in each weft with its corresponding warp; by espousing each event with its occurrence. The historian is only the darner of the fabric of history whose competence lies in adopting his/her darning skill to the original texture in terms of warp، weft، material and pattern.

The beginnings of the occupation of history date back to the myth and legend، which dealt with the historical material and decorated it with the thread of imagination. Events made up of symbols، puzzles and mythology were used to explain a certain reality and remind people of it. In fact، this is the common ground between myth، legend، story and the science of history. So، mythology is the poetic and fantastical processing of the material of history; the perception of the reality of communities in the light of their past. However، myth is a philosophical contemplation related to systems، values and rituals; as well as to worshipping، the universe and the act of creation. The story is a mere retelling of events which really happened or were simply imagined. Hence، it is a combination of legend، myth and history; sited in specific places in changing times، like the shuttle carrying the weft between the lines of the warp. In Tamazight، warp is the 'jadad'، and the thread is the 'ulman'.

The focus of narrators and bloggers، for the most part، was on the passage of time; the shuttle carrying the weft between the warp and fro، but they neglected place، the warp carrying the thread. This is what led me to this research، encouraged by the findings of some great innovators like: Dr. Mohammed Shohroor، in his wonderful and audacious masterpiece entitled: Alkitab Wal Koran [The book and the Koran]; and Dr. Kamal Salibi through his two books entitled: Ettawrat Jaat Min Jaziret Al Arab [The Torah came from the Arabian Peninsula] and Khafaya Ettawrat Wa Asrar Echaab Il Israyli [The secrets of the Torah and the mysteries of the Israeli

people].
